Beyond the Gate: A new horizon for the King Rd Wastewater Treatment Plant - For decades, the King Road Wastewater Treatment Plant at Corinella has been a hidden part of Bass Coast’s story. Now, they’re opening the gates to rewrite its future. Westernport Water invite you to join them and Landscape Architects from Spiire for a visionary session to transform the site into a sanctuary where treatment, nature, culture and community can flow together. March 26th, 7-8pm. Following the Green: a collaborative future Industry Event - join in for a laid-back online event all about building a greener future together for the King Road Wastewater Treatment Plant. Dive into cool discussions, connect with like-minded folks, and explore how industries can team up for a sustainable tomorrow. March 31st, 2pm. The Bass Coast Landcare Network Annual General Meeting will be held at 5:00pm on Wednesday 25 March, at John and Carmel Carney’s property in Grantville.
This location provides a fantastic opportunity to showcase on-ground Landcare outcomes alongside the formal AGM proceedings. We are very pleased to confirm that Abi Smith, Co-Chair of Landcare Victoria, will attend as our guest speaker. Abi is also the Chief Executive Officer of the Threatened Species Conservancy, bringing a strong depth of leadership and experience in conservation, community engagement, and statewide Landcare advocacy. Her attendance will add significant value to the evening and provide an excellent opportunity for members to connect with broader Landcare priorities across Victoria. Following the formal AGM proceedings, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a guided site walk, showcasing John Carney’s Biolinks projects, and an impressive 10-hectare saltmarsh and mangrove restoration project, demonstrating best-practice coastal restoration and long-term environmental stewardship. This will be a valuable opportunity to highlight the impact of collaborative Landcare efforts and to celebrate the work of past and present contributors.
