This June as part of our Partnerships against Pests project, BCLN will be hosting two community sessions. The first session on Tuesday 2nd June 7-830pm 'Tech tools for tackling Invasive Species' will be a webinar, focusing on some of the current technology, apps and platforms available that can play a role in Invasive species Management. The second session will be an on-ground demonstration day at the River Garden in Bass on Friday 5th of June, on 'Best Practice Rabbit Management' where our Invasive species team will give live demonstrations on rabbit proof fencing, fumigation and bait laying. In December 2025, the Bass Coast Landcare Network (BCLN) Board invited member groups to submit grant proposals that advance the pursuit of BCLN’s purpose. With successful grant applications to be funded directly by BCLN through its Community Projects Reserve, that was assessed by the Board to now have the financial capacity to fund up to $125,000 of projects.
This exciting opportunity was only made possible as a result of the commitment and success of the entire BCLN team to consistently provide high quality sustainable services, resulting in the accumulation of past BCLN financial operating surpluses to fund the grant. The evaluation committee (that included representation from our partners at Bass Coast Shire and Melbourne Water) was very impressed by the quality and mix of grant proposals received. Congratulations to the Landcare Groups listed below for their project being approved for funding. Outcomes of these individual projects will be shared within BCLN and externally to communicate, recognise and celebrate the positive environmental impact local Landcare groups and BCLN have made through the grants provided. |
