EXPRESSION OF INTEREST to host an on-farm multi species pasture demonstration site in Bass Coast.4/6/2025 We are looking for a grazing property who would be willing to host a multi species pasture demonstration site on their property as part of the Bass Coast Landcare Networks Ag-Resilience project. The Ag-Resilience project is funded through the Australian Government’s Climate Smart Agriculture Program. The 3-year program is being delivered in collaboration with Melbourne Water and five other regional partners. The program will also deliver a range of activities including field days, farm walks and training activities aimed to equip farmers with the knowledge and skills to better adapt their farming operations to a changing climate. Key focus of the demonstration site – To monitor and measure multi species pastures compared to ‘conventional’ practices for their effects on soil health, farm productivity and farm economics. From June 2025 to June 2028 one demonstration site will be established in the Bass Coast region of the Melbourne Water Catchment. The focus of the demonstration will be to assess the cost: benefit of establishing multi species pastures compared to conventional pastures. Bass Coast farmers who have farms located in the Bass Coast Region of the Melbourne Water catchment are invited to apply to host a demonstration site through completing this online EOI. If you wish to apply click on the following link to access the EOI. EOI's close on 25th June 2025. https://forms.gle/SnHtr7aSi8FuEn9QA For further information contact Joel Geoghegan from Bass Coast Landcare Network on [email protected] The Ag Resilience Project is supported by the Australian Government through funding from the Natural Heritage Trust under the Climate Smart Agriculture Program. |
