It was a fitting setting, surrounded by the rolling hills about the historic and volunteer-built Old Moyarra School to reflect on the achievements of the year at our final meeting and gathering on Saturday 23 November.
It was wonderful to host 30 soil enthusiasts at our “Regenerative Land Care” event on Saturday 14 September at the Outtrim Hall where presenter and author Stefanie Hildmann shared wisdom and practical techniques from her recently published book “Radical Soil Care - a no-nonsense guide to soil health”.
After postponing this event to due illness last month, we can now announce that we have re-booked Stefanie and can't wait to bring all things soil to you in September!
It's that time of year, planting season is here!
Save the date on the below KHLG planting dates and keep an eye on further comms for more details. Saturday 27 July: Kathryn Chapman 51 Desmond Road, Wattlebank 1100 plants Saturday 7 September: Serge & Carolyn Charles 66 Armstrongs Road, Kongwak 4000 plants Also see other group's planting days here. How can we break the weed spray cycle, keep cattle and soil in a sustainable relationship, and monitor landscape function?
Stefanie works as an educator about all things soil and is known for her no-nonsense approach to soil health. What a fabulous sun-filled autumn morning to host Gio Fitzpatrick at our Homes for Wildlife - Nest Box Education Session today!
An award-winning naturalist, environmental activist and nest box designer, Gio presented to over 60 keen attendees at the Outtrim Hall. Kongwak Primary School students were visited by award-winning naturalist and nest box designer Gio Fitzpatrick today, who led an educational workshop on nest boxes and what makes a sustainable forest within their “Sustainable Kongwak” class.
