It was a fitting setting, surrounded by the rolling hills about the historic and volunteer-built Old Moyarra School to reflect on the achievements of the year at our final meeting and gathering on Saturday 23 November.

2024 has been a productive and peaceful year for the Kongwak Hills Landcare Group.  

We gratefully received Landcare Victoria funding for the planting of 3 properties with one of those property adding to a planting from 10 years ago - it’s glorious to see the end results while putting in new plants. 
We appreciated the input from Bass Coast Landcare Network around Fire-wise plantings and also the Bunurong Land Council.  ​

We have offered a variety of education sessions on birds and soil care that have been enthusiastically attended and have enjoyed joining with Korumburra Landcare group in their activities too. ​

​It was wonderful to host 30 soil enthusiasts at our “Regenerative Land Care” event on Saturday 14 September at the Outtrim Hall where presenter and author Stefanie Hildmann shared wisdom and practical techniques from her recently published book “Radical Soil Care - a no-nonsense guide to soil health”. 

How can we break the weed spray cycle, keep cattle and soil in a sustainable relationship, and monitor landscape function?

Stefanie works as an educator about all things soil and is known for her no-nonsense approach to soil health.
​She builds on her European family history, and the echoes of that past wisdom and merges it with modern thought and science.
Her book Radical Soil Care provides foundational principles for soil health and with that knowledge, a range of solutions and tools become evident.
Stefanie has bred Black Angus cattle in South Gippsland and, in a warm and entertaining way, she will challenge current traditions of land management from those years of experience and learning.

​A light lunch will be provided as well as the chance to win a door prize of Stefanie's fabulous book- Radical Soil Care.
