Bass Valley

The group was originally formed to tackle soil erosion, vegetation decline, pest plants and water quality. It has since grown into the largest group in the BCLN.

objectives

  1. Securing long term funding to service the needs of the community
  2. Reduce carbon footprint
  3. Protect, enhance and restore indigenous biodiversity
  4. Re-establish healthy waterways
  5. Provide educational opportunities for landholders in the district
  6. To engage new members and re engage existing members
  7. Eliminate or control pest plants and animals
  8. Source and translate scientific data and disseminate in useable forms
  9. Maintaining Landcare Ethic & Community Relationships
  10. Mitigating the effects of soil erosion to improve the land productivity and water quality
  11. Promote Landcare in schools
  12. Develop, embrace, engage and encourage active participation of young people within the community
  13. Promote practices that develop healthy soils
