The Powlett Project is a steering committee that covers the 5 Landcare groups in the Powlett catchment. The project aims to coordinate funding and on-ground projects to generate the optimum outcome for the whole of the catchment. The project was originally triggered by the need to mitigate the large amount of effluent pouring into Foster Creek from the Korumburra Sale Yards, and since it began in 1996, it has spread down the entire catchment to the sea. In that time the project has put 1,630,000 plants in the ground. |
