Through education and training programs for all ages of our community, from school children to the elderly, we are working towards a community of knowledgeable land managers caring for and appreciating the wonders and benefits of a healthy, productive landscape.
Assisting landholders to undertake revegetation, weed control and property works to provide shade and shelter for stock, reduce soil loss through erosion control, improve water quality, increase biodiversity, absorb greenhouse gases and restore local landscapes.
Encouraging, supporting and assisting with on-ground Landcare project work to help our groups fulfil their objectives. Qualified staff offer a range of services including weed spraying, planting, vegetation assessments and weed management.
Each year, Bass Coast Landcare Network Works Crew controls hundreds of hectares of weeds which invade farmland, take over creeks and bushland, and harbor pests such as foxes and rabbits.
We also have a dedicated Pest Animal Team who are experienced in a wide range of control methods. If you have pest animals on your property that you would like assistance with getting under control, our highly trained staff can help. |
Supporting sustainable agriculture throughout Bass Coast and beyond by developing and implementing trials, encouraging diversification and assisting farmer discussion groups exploring innovative practices. We are developing partnerships with educational institutions and industry groups to ensure that programs and trials are based on credible science.
Empowering landholders and householders to reduce their impacts on the environment by reducing energy, water use and waste production. We aim to inspire the next generation of Landcarers to develop a sense of wonder and care for the natural world and give them an insight into the role they can play in creating a sustainable environment.
