You are invited to this exciting farm walk event focusing on ‘Revegetation for beneficial insects on farms’. This is a follow up event to our recently successful farm walk on the Benefits of Biodiversity on Farms. Biodiversity is important on farms and encouraging beneficial insects can provide fantastic ecosystem services as a co-benefit from planting suitable functional biodiversity. Come along for more information on beneficial (predatory and parasitic) insects, attracting them to your farm and all the benefits from a thriving insect ecosystem. We will take a walk in a local reserve to look for beneficial insect interactions and also visit a local farm who have undertaken recent successful revegetation. Karen Thomas from Melbourne Water who has worked with beneficial insects on farms will again be our guest speaker for the day. This will be a fantastic interactive walk and we hope to see you all on the day. Biosecurity measures will be in place on the day. Please ensure your vehicles and footwear are clean prior to this farm walk. Event Details. Date: Friday 3rd November 2023.
