You are invited to join us for this exciting visit to CERES Fair Wood including a mobile salvage sawmilling demonstration in action. Located in Preston, CERES Fair Wood is a social enterprise acting as an honest broker between Australian farm foresters, small local sawmillers and environmentally conscious wood users. The high-quality timbers on offer there have their own story and are locally sourced to the highest standards of ethics and transparency. Its growing core market includes environmentally conscious home DIYers, furniture makers, architects and builders. If numbers are low we may consider We will be taken on a tour of the workshop and introduced to a varied product range that includes cladding, decking, lining, flooring, landscaping materials, joinery timber and firewood. Stock at Fair Wood includes timber grown by farm foresters like Frank and Sharon Hirst and processed by small sawmillers like Dan and Amelia Bright at Amber Creek farm, both sites in South Gippsland to be visited in this tour series on 14th May 2022. We will also be treated to a demonstration of mobile salvage sawmilling by Paul McKay and his team on site at CERES Fair Wood.
