Gippsland Threatened Species Action Group and Birdlife Bass Coast are working on a project to conserve Blue-Winged Parrots (BWPs). They are an elusive little bird, closely related to the famous Orange-bellied Parrots (OBPs). They are often sighted in coastal grasslands, saltmarsh, wetlands, dead trees, paddocks and other open grassy areas. BirdLife Bass Coast chose to research BWPs as:
