BCLN recently hosted a delegation of 10 board members and staff from both the Nature Network (East Bendigo Landcare) and Buloke & Northern Grampians Landcare for a tour and deep dive into our operations of BCLN. This was a reciprocal tour as several of our Board members and staff recently toured the Nature Network up in Bendigo. The tour started off at our BCLN office and Depot with a general talk on how we are set up and our operational model. We then headed out to Karl Russo’s property to see the amazing 6-year-old revegetation. We also toured some of our Mangrove planting sites down at Grantville. David Rooks, Phillip Island Landcare Board rep, did a fantastic job hosting the group for a BBQ dinner sitting around a fire on a cold and windy night. Paul Speirs hosted the group on day 2, taking the group for a walk down to the Mouth of the Powlett and a walk through his amazing Riparian revegetation site that now is the closest thing we have in the Bass coast to cool temperate rainforest. I personally get a lot out of showing other Landcare people around our area, I am so proud of what our Landcare network has achieved in a short space of time. I think we can learn a lot from each other and I look forward to more tours down the track.
