Victorian Landcare Forum - March 24th & 25th

​The North-East Region Landcare community will host the Victorian Landcare Forum from Friday, 24 March to Saturday, 25 March 2023 in Beechworth (George Kerferd Hotel).
The Forum will provide a fantastic opportunity to share Landcare knowledge and experience from around the State, to meet others directly involved in Landcare and to see first-hand the achievements of Landcare in the North-East.

 Friday, 24 March
Forum – 8.30am to 5.00pm(morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea inc.)
Opening Address: Cathy McGowan
Keynote – New Insights, New Opportunities: Michelle Young, Director, ANU Sustainable Farms
Keynote - Urban Landcare and Citizen Science: Karen Retra, Co-founder of the Wild Pollinator Count
Carbon, Community and Climate
  • Carbon - Danny Pettingill – Firetail Environments
  • Community - Sonia Sharkey – South West Goulburn Landcare Network
  • Climate - Jessica Reeves, University of Melbourne
Landcare Victoria – Progress, Priorities and Directions: Andrew Maclean, CEO Landcare Victoria Inc.
Opportunities in scaled approaches to landscape change: Katie Warner, CEO North East CMA
Adaptation and Change in the Landcare Model – Network Perspectives: presentations from Landcare Networks on approaches to sustainability.
Peer to Peer learning session: a facilitated workshop focussing on community landcare issues and perspectives
Dinner and Networking opportunity - 6.00pm to 9.00pm

Saturday, 25 March

  • Beechworth Bush Botanic Gardens
Ticketing
There are a number of ticketing options for you to choose from.
  • Forum and Dinner - $110
  • Forum only (includes morning and afternoon tea and lunch, exc. dinner) - $50
  • Dinner only - $65
  • Bus Tour (Saturday) - $30
Accommodation
Beechworth is a popular destination. It is advisable to book accommodation early and to consider sharing where possible.
Please note that accommodation costs are the responsibility of attendees, however there are some rooms set aside for guests to book at the following hotels.
  • Beechworth Motor Inn (5728 1301)
  • Beechworth Amour Inn (5728 1466)
  • George Kerferd Hotel (5728 2618)
Please contact the hotel directly (by phone) and mention Landcare Victoria when making your booking.
The towns of Wodonga and Wangaratta are within half an hour of Beechworth and may offer more diverse accommodation options.
