You are invited to an exciting event to hear about Deakin Universities Blue Carbon Lab ‘Monitoring your Farm Dam Emissions’ project. This citizen science project is working with farmers to monitor the health of farm dams. The program provides landowners with easy to install floating sensors that monitor in real time emissions such as carbon dioxide, methane and nitrous oxide. Farm dams are essential to our thriving farms. They are more than just water reservoirs. Beyond providing reliable supplies of good-quality water, your dam can be a biodiversity hotspot and help reduce your carbon footprint, while unlocking financial opportunities. Come along to hear about this exciting program and how you might be able to get involved. This event will commence with a presentation in the Bass Hall from Blue Carbon Lab followed by an interactive farm walk at a local Bass farm. We hope to see you all on the day. Biosecurity measures will be in place on the day. Please ensure your vehicles and footwear are clean prior to this farm walk. Event Details. Date: Friday 17th May 2024. Time: 1.30pm to 4.30pm Farm address: Bass Valley Community Hall https://maps.app.goo.gl/19PL599hPC18QXa46 followed by a farm walk at a local Bass farm. Please RSVP for this event by Monday 13th May 2024. For further information and to confirm your attendance please email Joel Geoghegan on [email protected] or call on 0409 705 652.
